I get up, spend about 10 minutes getting the laptop fired up, getting a drink, and waking up. Then I dive into my daily bible plan and a couple devotionals. Once I'm through reading, I get a little time to pray for friends and family that could use a lift and of course my pastor. I enjoy this time for as long as I can before I have to wake up the kids for school and get ready for work. This isn't the end all of my relationship with God. It's like tuning my guitar before I play it. It sets my mind right before I face the day. It aligns my heart, mind, and soul to make proper decisions throughout my day, to look for God's glory as it manifests itself, and it really lights my fire. I wake up in love with God. I rush to my morning meeting time with him because that's where I want to be. I used to be the "not a morning person" poster boy. Now, I get to enjoy God's peace as I start my day. And yes, as you said, devotional time should not be your only relationship building time with God. However, I wouldn't give it up for anything. We take God for granted too many times, whereas we would not do it with our family. I too struggle with my Christian life and prayer life as well. But I am working on it. Getting there bit by bit. And u rightly said we have not been living yet until we've found something worth dying for. We say we wanna leave christ-like but the commitment isn't there at all. But as for me am doing my best and whenever I fall I ask God to strengthen me in my daily walk with Him. Keep up the good work and I love your songs.
